Thromboxane B2 is a thromboxane A metabolite. It is nearly entirely eliminated in the urine. Aspirin, which suppresses the COX-1 enzyme and thus lowers thromboxane A2 levels, targets its synthesis. It is a steady thromboxane A2 degradation product that is excreted by the kidneys as 11-dehydro TXB-2 (d-TXB 2).
