Surfactant associated protein D (SPD) belongs to the collectin family of proteins, it is described as a lung surfactant protein. It is made up of three subunits that can be assembled to generate a homotrimer, the 3 regions are collagenous region (N-terminal), nucleating neck region and the lectin domain (C-terminal).
